Aroma Yong, a Natural Aroma Cosmetic Company from Jeju, Expands to European Market

Aroma Yong participated in the international trade delegation organized by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, composed of seven exporting businesses in the province. The company visited the Netherlands, Belgium, and Switzerland from September 21 to 29 to take its first steps to expand to the European market.  

The 2017 Jeju International Trade Delegation went to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Brussels in Belgium, and Zurich in Switzerland to introduce outstanding products made in Jeju.

The trade delegation, jointly hosted and organized by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Office of Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC), was formed to reach beyond the scope of the island province’s regular international trade; the delegates’ goal was to pioneer and make contacts in new promising markets through active marketing activities.

In particular, the trade delegation coordinated closely with local KOTRA trade promotion officers in Europe, conducting in-depth one-on-one export consultation, in addition to collecting information by analyzing local markets, competition trends, import policies, and tariff rates.  

Jeju, SBC, and local KOTRA offices selected seven competitive companies in Jeju after assessing their local marketability and export preparations. The participating companies were provided with funds to research local buyers, rent consultation space, acquire translators, and travel.

Yong Seon-hee, the CEO of Aroma Yong, stated that the participation in the delegation greatly helped her company in its global expansion plans. She said that the aroma therapy masks made by Aroma Yong was favorably received in the European market, which promoted her company to consider setting up a European office, continue seeking local buyers, and become a Korean brand recognized in Europe, the home of aroma therapy.
